We have an instant pot and a gas stove. I did not really buy into the idea that we ALSO need a rice cooker. Why? We can just make rice in the instant pot or on the stove.
Except sometimes you already have something in the instant pot, your toddler is hungry, and you need rice fast and at the same time. Enter this cute little thing. There it sits. Humming away. Making perfect rice (including with added coconut milk or spices) every time. Brown rice. White rice. I haven’t tried oatmeal but I will. It’s perfection and exactly the right size for two adults and a toddler. I love making fresh, warm rice for dinner every day without the hassle and it’s so easy to clean out and so cute! Easy to use. Adorably small. Perfect.

Not for use in U.K. wrong plug and incorrect voltage.
Only plus in this saga was the painless returns process. Hats off to the supplier.

I had a smaller one in a different brand that went kaput and wanted something small due to space and typically only needing rice for 1-2 people at a time. This one holds 4 cups cooked and it’s the perfect size for us! I love it. Simple, efficient, came with a handle. I know how to make rice on the stove but this stove is very unpredictable and kept burning the rice so I learned to rely on these and love it because you can walk away and not worry, plus keeps it warm for you once it’s done. So far, I’ve only used it to make white rice and yellow. Add a few drops of oil to the rice if you don’t want it bubbling over the lid.

The Aroma Housewares 4-Cup Rice & Grain Cooker (ARC-302NGBL) has been a total game-changer for my cooking routine. This little powerhouse is compact, easy to store, and ideal for small households or meal prepping. It cooks up to 4 cups of perfectly fluffy rice (which means 2 cups uncooked), and the results are consistent every single time. Whether it’s white rice, brown rice, or even quinoa, this cooker handles it all with ease!
What makes it stand out?
Ease of Use: With its one-touch operation, you just add your rice and water, press the button, and let it work. No fuss, no overcomplications—it’s as simple as it gets!
Versatile Cooking: Not just for rice, I’ve used it to cook oatmeal, couscous, and other grains. It’s also perfect for steaming veggies or reheating leftovers using the keep-warm function.
Compact and Stylish: Its small footprint is perfect for kitchens with limited counter space, and the sleek design adds a touch of modern flair.
Quick Cleanup: The non-stick inner pot makes cleanup incredibly easy, even after sticky recipes. The pot is also removable, so you can rinse and clean it in no time.
Convenience: The keep-warm feature is fantastic—it ensures the rice stays at the perfect temperature until you’re ready to eat.
This rice cooker has quickly become one of my most-used kitchen appliances. It’s affordable, reliable, and perfect for busy people who want great meals without extra hassle. If you love rice or other grains, this is absolutely worth it. Highly recommend!

Some people complain that making rice is a pain, but I’ve never had a problem with it. I could never see the need for a rice cooker. And I even have a lot of friends who are much better cooks than I am, who make rice all the time, and they all have rice cookers that they rave about. But I just couldn’t imagine taking up space in my kitchen counter or cupboards for a “one-hit-wonder” that I really didn’t need.
Then my girlfriend complained to me one day about how hard it is to make rice and other grains, so I bought her one of these little guys. The next day, we busted it out and made some brown rice. Boom! No problem. She was hooked! And… I was hooked! So I bought this one as soon as I got home.
The beauty of this cooker is that it’s small – just the right size for one or two people. And it uses the same design used for decades in other rice cookers. It’s simple, effective and works beautifully. The reason I like it now is that it uses one less burner on the stove and it takes care of itself. As I’m working on the rest of the meal, it just sits in the corner, minding its own business and cooking the rice. Once the rice is ready, it keeps it warm until the rest of the meal is ready to go.
The cooker comes with a variety of recipes and outlines other uses beyond rice. I might get adventurous one of these days and give them a try. But given that it can heat soups and oatmeal and other “one-pot” dishes, it would be a great gift for a student or someone living in a studio apartment. I love it!

This rice cooker does a great job, but it is advertised as a 4 cup cooker and there’s no way on earth it would hold 4 cups. In fact, preparing 2 cups of rice (2 cups water, 1 cup rice) makes a huge mess. Water spurts out from under the lid, etc. and leaves residue all over the outer pot. (I put a dish towel under it to help keep the splatter contained)
It’s a great little rice cooker for smaller amounts of rice, oatmeal, etc. Easy to clean up!

It’s a great little rice cooker. It’s much smaller than I expected when I ordered honestly but this is no issue for me. Max it will hold 1.5 cups of rice. The first couple times I used it it did give off a strong chemical smell which was a little concerning but did not affect the taste of the rice and was completely gone by the 3rd use.
They give you a little cup which measures 3/4 cup and if you fill the rice cooker to max which is 2 of the cups they give you it will be hard to fluff the rice because it does completely fill it up. I also noticed that using the instructions they provide you the rice comes out a bit overcooked and mushy for my taste. I have taken to using 1 cup and a filling it hardly enough to cover the rice (a teeny bit less than. 1 c water) and it cooks perfectly.
It comes with a glass lid so if you have leftovers I have taken to just putting the lid on and popping it in the fridge! It comes in a variety of cute colors and takes up minimal counter space and is super easy to clean. I have a a family of 3 and this cooks the perfect amount for us all. Super affordable and definitely worth the buy!
