The Chefman deep fryer igets 5 stars from me!

Overall, it’s a reliable and user-friendly appliance. Highly recommend!!

I’ve really enjoyed this product. It holds just the right amount for a single person. It does get hot but that is stated in the instructions. It has adjustable temperatures.

Muy facil de usar

Worked great at first and then progressingly became less and less useful by not getting hot enough. Items would turn to mush! This is its final Goodbye!

I’ve had this a couple of months and I love the size and convenience of this product. However what I do NOT like is the lack of thermostatic control. For one it takes at least 20 minutes to heat up to its maximum because the heater is constantly shuffling between off and on. However I discovered WHY. The thermostat sensor is located at the BOTTOM of the oil reservoir, NOT on the side where it should be. Thus any debris collecting in the oil accumulates there thereby blocking the oil from directly contacting the bottom. Thus the oil is indicating a HIGHER heat than actual.. shutting down the heater. Solution? Clear the bottom of debris with a spoon or change the oil more frequently. I now do both. Thus if the ON indicator is cycling this is the fix.

There are so many things to dislike about this item… the temperature dial is not at all precise and the highest temp was inaccurate according to my digital thermometer I used to check the actual temperature. The oil “tank” is not removable, but it is also not sealed, so oil can get underneath the tank edges and into the body of the fryer itself. In order to clean the unit, you must first detach the lid by “grasping both sides firmly and pulling up”. Good luck trying to do that while not spilling the oil in the tank. It is encouraged not to overfill the basket, but there are no guides within the basket to let you know what is considered “over filled”. With oil squarely between the minimum and maximum fill lines, I put a handful of French fries in the basket (less than half full) and the oil still overflowed the unit. There is a lid to decrease splatter, but steam forms on the underside and ultimately drips water into the oil which causes it to pop and splatter. I missed the return window for this product because I had not used it before the expiration. A very disappointing waste of $35.

Just the right size for cooking up a few things for my wife and myself. Easy to clean and does not take up alot of space

It is a fairly tiny fryer, but it is so easy to keep clean and so far I have used it to make beer-battered fish, chicken, onion rings and more, and everything cooks perfectly. One of the best purchases for my kitchen I ever made.

We don’t eat a lot of fried food and with 2 people in household, buying fried chicken commercially is a waste of food and $$. I’ve used this fryer twice now with fried chicken and it works very well. Clean up is great. It browns nicely, and even using the oil the second time neither of us got heartburn like we do with commercial chicken.
No negatives, but just a couple observations. I’m left handed so the tab to lift the lid is definitely on the wrong side, very awkward for a lefty and have to be super careful. Second, I don’t like the “magnetic plug in”, it’s easily knocked off. I had difficulty getting it to stay in place. Third, it is small. But that’s why I bought it, right?
The most negative thing is, the directions say done in 10 minutes. Not so. It looks done, but the juices are still bloody. So turn the food over and fry at least another 8-10” on the other side. Make sure you have your meat thermometer and that it reaches 165. And if you lose your meat thermometer, check the magnetic plug. It’s stuck there.
UPdate. Have been using this fryer once every 10-14 days since purchase, the only change to this review is that it is peeling in the bottom. It’s possible that the fryer basket caused this, but I don’t think so, but if it did, should it have? That is normal use. Still, I would purchase it again.
