This is similar review that I made for grid-it organizer of different size. This is an amazing tool to “grab” your wallet, keys, phone, pens, etc that you may carry around in your pockets and throw it into a bag. I use a messenger bag for work and sometimes you just don’t want to sift through it to find what you need. The band configurations make it easy to fit everything you need nicely onto the grid-it. This is a unique and neat way to keep your stuff organized.Keeps cables, chargers, phones, battery packs, everything you need on the go with quick access. The grids have some exposed rubber for extra grip. Personally, I find it most useful for keeping cords organized nicely. They do not tangle together and are easily accessed when you need them.

Also has a handy zipper pocket in the back and a loop for hook if you want to hang it somewhere.

    Pros:
    – Endless amount of configurations for your stuff
    – Keeps thing snug and secure to the grid-it
    – Bands are of high quality

    Cons:
    – None at all

Nice innovative travel organizer. Useful and quality is quite good. Somewhat pricey for an Indian customer, but this was couriered directly from USA by iBhejo which got delivered within time. I’m happy to have one. If the price was around Rs 800-1000 I would have ordered one more atleast.

This is an excellent product if you like all the cables and devices you carry round to be held safely and securely.

These are the things I love

The straps are elastic with a non slip covering to hold precious gadgets in place
The straps are woven so there are different sized openings, smaller ones for pens and USB drives, larger ones for ipods and chargers.
There is a small zipped pocket at the back for a small notepad or similar.
I love the way that gadgets are held secure so that they do not move in my laptop bag and so get scratched
It is very easy to put items in the Grid-it
It is very easy to remove items
You can see, when leaving a hotel room if something is missing as there is a space where it should be (I leave lots of things in hotel rooms so this is a big plus for me)

I have been using this for a few days and all the items secured to this have stayed secure and not moved at all.

It is a superb product, which although expensive, is well worth the money.

I have a laptop bag for work with two flat zipper pockets on each side. Anything I put in these pickets sits at the bottom and takes away from the space in the main compartment, and this works perfectly to stack everything more vertically!!

For years now my messenger/laptop bag had been plagued with little knick knacks and random electronics bouncing around inside of it. Occasionally I’d just toss in something I’d need – things like packs of gum, phone chargers, bluetooth mice, etc. – and before I knew it, my bag would be a giant mess. This particular organizer caught my attention at the Apple store and for only $10 I decided to give it a try.

In a word: this thing is awesome. The straps themselves surprised me with how high quality they are… they’re thick, rugged, and have added rubber for sturdy grips. They keep items nice and secure and I’ve never worried about them coming loose. It has the perfect ratio of large to small straps (large for items like a bluetooth mouse or a powerbank, small for items like a USB jump drive or a pair of backup AA batteries). It even has a zip-up pocket on the back of it. It’s occasionally handy (personally I just keep my checkbook in it), but IMO they should have put an EXTRA large strap on the back. This could’ve been handy for holding a small notepad or a bunch of letters. Just an idea though, the zip up pocket is better than nothing.

Overall, it’s (nearly) perfect. The only issue I have with it is that sometimes the straps get too tight when a lot of objects are on it. Not too tight where it’s impossible to remove an item, but tight enough to create a minor annoyance. It’s a small issue, and it’ll probably go away on its own after I’ve broken in the organizer some more over time.

    Highly recommended!

What else can I say? I got the medium and it’s perfect for keeping all my smaller hiking things tidy- flashlight, multi-tool, a day’s worth of meds, etc. And because they’re all together it’s easy to just grab it and put it in a different bag if I want to. No fishing around for little stuff at the bottom of my backpack. Fantastic. Get one.

I’ve had this for a year and a half, and it’s great. It organizes everything, grips way better than you’d think, and makes life so much easier when you’re traveling. I won’t go into more details on that – you can see them in all the other reviews.

What I didn’t see mentioned before buying it is that it’s just barely too tall to fit in an airplane seatback pocket and still allow the tray table to be lowered. I’ve used it in pretty much every kind of plane, on multiple US and international carriers, and it’s always between half an inch and an inch too tall. You wouldn’t think it would be that big a deal, but it really ends up being a pretty big pain.

The good news is, they do make one that’s just barely smaller. I feel like it may have been created specifically for this purpose. I’m going to get the “Cocoon Grid-It CPG8BK 10.5 x 7.5-Inch Organizer”. The 1.5 inches less in length should be exactly what’s needed to make it fit correctly.

One other note: the pouch on the back is made of thin, lightweight material in order to avoid bulk. So far it’s held up pretty well with a couple thin cable/adapters in there, but I can see where it’s going to fail within the next couple of years. If you plan on using that zipper pouch, expect a lifespan of less than 5 years for this product. Probably closer to 3, depending on your usage. Still, at this price, and for what it does, I’ll be buying another one when this one dies.

At least at the time I purchased this item, the pictures and the description clearly showed that this item was co-branded for an ADA event in Las Vegas in 2011. Therefore I was not surprised, and don’t feel it deserves to be down-rated as a result. I can’t vouch for whether this was in the description or pictures at the time of others’ purchases, so they may have legitimate complaints.

That said this thing is extremely useful. It has turned my gadget pocket of my daypack and suitcase into a much more orderly and manageable place. Cords stay bundled and secured, devices stay organized in whatever manner makes the most sense to you, and it’s versatile and durable. It’s usefulness is really only limited to what you think needs organizing – I could see this being equally useful for traveling with art supplies, tech tool kits, survival/first-aid kits, really anything you want to add a little order to an otherwise chaotic group of things. Not a necessity by any means, but damned useful.
