The SIMREX drone is easy to control, with stable flight and useful features like altitude hold and waypoint mode. The Simrex X800 drone was bought by myself as an early Christmas present. I have been promising myself to buy one and have been waiting for the right one at the right price. Well I certainly think that I have found one that ticks all the boxes.
Let me say from the start that the word “Toy” appears on the Instruction book and handbook, this is far from a toy. Although the kids under supervision will love it, mine did.
The box opening was exciting, once the batteries were charged fully, about 10 mins to charge them up, the one battery was inserted. The spare battery was stored, ready for later. I must say read the instructions then download the Simrex Zoomy, there is a QR code which you scan and download the app.
The app allows you to use the phone as a controller and has the facility to take high quality photographs and videos from it. The best thing is you can control the Simrex 800 with ease from the controller or switch to the phone and see what the drone sees. The amount of functions that this drone can perform is numerous. Use the phone or controller to control it.
Once you take control of the craft you will find that it is simple to use and you will find yourself zooming over the houses and trees, it really is a fantastic machine, it feels as if you are flying.
The weight of the drone being under 250 grams, means that it is classed as a toy, this is fantastic because as I have said this is better than just a toy.
For reviewers in the UK this is the legislation,
You can fly drones under 250 grams at residential, recreational, commercial, and industrial sites.
You can fly closer to people than 50 meters and over them, but you must not fly over crowds.
You must always fly safely and never put people in danger.
You must always keep the drone in sight, do not loose where it is, in the sky.
As you get better at the controls you will be amazed the agile ability of the drone, this is my first drone to fly and some things stand out above others. This drone is lightweight well made and balanced, it has forward and under deck cameras, the controller is well made and is similar to the Playstation controller, as many are. As a child using it, providing you are responsible, it is an ideal tool (Toy) that should be in your number one list. Ask Father Christmas for one. As an adult flying the drone, you will be surprised just how this one will take the years off you, be a child again. Get one for your own tool box.
For the price of this X800 drone you can have many hours of fun, I intend to get another this week as the thought of controlled flying, with my brother using one sounds more than fun.
I can thoroughly recommend this drone to you, you will not be disappointed if you buy one, 10/10.

I bought the Simrex X800 drone as a Christmas present for my son. He had a few drones picked out in his Amazon “cart” that seemed to be much more focused as a toy. I came across this one because it seemed to have better features compared to the others he selected and was a little more geared towards a starter drone and not just a cheap toy drone. He really wanted a drone with a camera and one you could use a phone with attached to the controller. This had that and seemed to be at a great price. When he opened this one up on Christmas, he couldn’t wait to try it out!
This drone is a lot of fun and easy to setup. I installed the Simrex app on my phone and was able to connect easily without issue. I showed my son how to turn on the drone and connect the controller but I did help with the app startup and connection. The camera’s quality is actually better than expected. For this price range, you typically get 720p but this definitely looked 1080p as listed. We have flown the drone a few days and it is a blast. One of the days was fairly windy, so it did struggle to maintain a perfect position. This would be expected as wind impacts even more expensive drones. Having 2 batteries is nice. We get about 20 minutes of fly time for each battery. This does vary a little depending on aggressive you fly the drone. The controls are pretty subtle which I like for my son. What I mean is this drone isn’t too fast where it can get away from you pretty quickly if you don’t know what you are doing. I would say this is a great beginner’s drone as it gets you used to drone controls. My son did want it to zip around like the racing drones so he was a little disappointed at first. I told him this drone is more for fun and taking cool videos and photos. I showed him the flip mode and he was having the drone do front flips, back flips, and side flips all over the place. That is by far his favorite part. We have used the emergency stop function a few times and it has worked great! It has saved us from getting stuck in trees or crashing into solar panel roofs. You just have to make sure you really want the drone to stop because it will immediately shut off and come crashing down. We take the drone to a big grass park nearby so we are not concerned with the crash landings. It seems to hold up just fine landing in the grass.
The are a few cons that I can think of… (1) The battery life, which is pretty much an issue with a lot of budget drones, at least you get 2 with this one! (2) The controller’s phone mounting adapter. The mounting clamp for the phone can be a little precarious which makes me worried as my son is running around chasing the drone that is flying through the air. It hasn’t fallen out yet, but I feel like it might just be a matter of time since the controller is so light and the phone is so heavy. I would take caution while using the controller with the phone and with kids holding the controller. Not a deal breaker if you use this responsibly, as you should with all drones.
Overall I think this is a great beginner’s drone to get into the hobby and not have to worry about destroying expensive equipment as you learn. I am very pleased with it and I know my son loves it!

I recently bought this drone and am impressed by its quality and performance. It is very easy to set. It has a high-quality camera, and video capture syncs well with its app. I had a few crashes while flying, but it withstands well. It gives around 8 minute flight, and since it has an extra battery that can be easily swapped, it can be used quickly. This dorone doesnt demand special piloting skillsnits great for everyone i higly recommend its great drone to have funtime with kids and family and its comes with very resonable cost

Drone lasted about 4 days before one of the propellers stopped work, so had to send it back for a refund. Waste of money.

The SIMREX Drone With Camera 1080P is a fun recreational toy, great for beginners and casual use. Setup was relatively straightforward, and the included two batteries charge quickly, although they don’t last very long. The drone is enjoyable to fly, but I’ve noticed it occasionally takes off in random directions on its own.
While the remote control is included, I’ve found it doesn’t work properly when connected to Wi-Fi, so I’ve had to use my phone for both controlling the drone and viewing through the camera. The camera quality is decent for its price, and features like 3D flips and headless mode add to the fun. Overall, it’s a good starter drone for casual use, but there’s room for improvement in connectivity and control reliability.

Perfect starter drone which will be a great Christmas present for our kids. I wanted to get them a drone that was easy to use making it fun. Lots of drones were around this price bracket, but this stood out as a 1080p resolution (Full HD = 2,073,600 pixels) rather than the rest which were 720p (HD = 921,600) – so 2.25x the resolution AND the camera module on the underside can be angled from 0 (forward) to 90 (straight down). Both these features together enabled me to fly it outside and use it to inspect our flat roof for moss (you have to test these things before wrapping them up and putting them in the loft for Christmas). It was easy to connect to (just turn it on, find the WiFi NW it transmits and click “start” in the App. I used my phone as a controller outdoors and used it with the controller indoors and both work equally as well. As you can see from the video the drone is ever so slightly wobbly at roof height in the wind outside. So best for the kids to use indoors or outdoors on a calm day. It comes with a full spare set of rotor blades as accidents do happen and also comes with 2 batteries, so no arguments about taking turns as one for each of the kids! I’m sure they are going to love it 🙂

This is the first drone I have ever bought or operated. I must say it’s been a while since I’ve had this much fun with a gadget. The drone is easy to operate and it takes very little time to learn to navigate. It comes with two batteries and they seem to work for a pretty long time before they run out. As you can see from the video I am playing with it in my living room and taking a video on the iPhone. The hand held controller is light and is operated by 3 AAA batteries.

This is a really cool little drone. Very simple to set up, easy to fly and comes with some spare products in the box, like extra blades, and battery. I have never had a drone before and was looking forward to trying this drone out.
The drone was fairly fast and came with protective sheaths underneath each blade to prevent the blades from snapping off if hitting something like a wall or a tree. The video quality was good and the picture quality was good. The flight was very stable and easy to control except of course if it’s windy.
I enjoyed flying this strong and would recommend this for any beginner!!
