I’m a tow truck driver who deals with some cool stuff weekly. I also ride a motorcycle. I’m on the road a lot regardless of if it’s 2 wheels or 6.
I bought this camera to show some of the aweful drivers on the road for those YouTube videos along with the cool stuff I do on a daily basis. Camera over heated insanely fast. I think my iPhone 15 Pro Max with a bright screen in 105 degrees could last longer in direct sunlight.
Next, ANOTHER APP. This isn’t a huge deal but you have to create an account and then activate the camera. My gf’s professional photography camera ($5k) doesn’t require any of this.
It just decides to connect and disconnect when it wants. Not worth it. I’m glad I didn’t invest in the other accessories that are offered because I’m 99% sure I’m retiring this $500 piece of trash. I work too hard for my money to throw it away like that.
Size is great tho. Easy to transport to the trash picture quality on the camera it self is not great.

This is an absolutely fantastic camera which is so much fun to use!!. I bought this early last year for an adventure of a lifetime to Bolivia and Peru, where my now husband proposed to me. That was the good news. The bad news is 5 days into the trip it was unfortunately stolen from me by a group of professional thieves on a coach while we were travelling. 100% devastating, especially because I only got to record 2 videos!! Nevertheless, it’s a great bit of kit and I would highly recommend. I even bought one for my sister.

If you’re interested in capturing your sports, activities, or even just your daily life, the Insta360 X3 is probably the best and most versatile option to look at. I would go so far to say that this is the best action camera i’ve ever had. I’ve had so much fun with it; it takes amazing and high-quality 5.7k videos, and up to 72 megapixel 360° photos!
I bought the Insta360 X3 Get Set kit, which includes a selfie stick, lens cover and a 32mb SD card. It’s exactly what you need to get started. The superb 360° video quality and in-camera stabilization are my favorite features of this camera and the build quality is phenomenal. I’m serious when I say Insta360’s FlowState stabilization is next-level! All of your footage is smooth like you’re using a gimbal! The X3 is a vast improvement over the One X2, mainly because of the touch screen. The X3 features a 2.29” touch screen and it is smooth and as responsive as your phone! I can now change settings easily while running or on my bike (something I couldn’t do with the small screen on the One X2)! The camera also has haptic feedback, so you feel a slight vibration when you change settings or start recording! Ok, so you’re obviously interested in this camera because it can shoot 360° footage, but a big bonus of the X3 is the ability to shoot 4k 30 in single lens mode! Basically, this allows you to use the X3 like a normal action camera, and to get the 4k footage we all want! The X3 now features several physical buttons in addition to the touch screen. This is HUGE! Sometimes we need to just press a button and go, and the X3 lets you start/stop recording with a easily accessed button on the front as well as easily switch between lens modes with another front facing button. There is a customizable Q button (quick menu) on the side which allows you to quickly switch between using the 360° lens or single-lens mode. It may not sound like much, but this has made my video creation so much quicker and easier!
The X3 now has 3 microphones, so it picks up sounds much better than the One X2. This means that if you’re using this camera to vlog, the camera will pick up your voice better! Tbh, it still sounds like an action camera, but it gets the job done. I have made videos while running in windy conditions and the mic picked up my voice perfectly!
The X3 is waterproof to 10 meters. I have taken mine in the pool and the ocean and it works like a charm coming in and out of the water.
I love Insta360’s color science and you are able to shoot video in Vivid, Standard, or LOG (flat) color profiles. Most of my footage is shot in the Vivid color profiles because the type of footage I take with this camera looks best when the color really pops! The X3 now features 1/2” sensors. This may or may not mean something to you, but because the sensors are bigger than previous cameras, it can film better in low light situations.
If you’re new to filming with a 360° camera, it is a real treat! The 360 lenses capture everything around the camera so you can choose which direction you want to see in the video in post-production and export it as such. Working with 360° footage takes a little longer than filming with a normal camera (that only shows the direction you point it), but the results are amazing. In normal 360° mode you will need to reframe your footage to show what part of the 360° sphere you want, but all your friends will be wondering how you got those shots. New on the X3 is the “Me mode” which eliminates the need to reframe your footage. In “Me mode” the camera records you when you hold the camera. In “Me mode you can’t look around the entire sphere, but you will remain in the center of the shot! It can be a real time saver when you want to film yourself! The very best part of using the X3 is that the AI is able to remove the selfie stick from the image so it appears as if the camera if floating around you. This is done because the camera’s two lenses overlap each other in what they capture. The X3 has a 1/4 20 mount on the bottom, so will attach to any standard selfie stick or tripod with that mount. If you’re attaching the X3 to a standard action camera finger mount, a tip for 360 camera users is to ensure the camera is positioned straight directly above the selfie stick. (If the camera is not straight on the selfie stick, you may see a little of the selfie stick in your video). This does not happen if you screw the selfie stick directly into the camera! Again, video stabilization is excellent. It really is amazing how I can do so much stuff (running, biking, snowboarding, etc) with the camera shaking and the final video comes out looking smooth.
Battery life is good and I usually can take the camera out for a day of shooting without having to recharge. This is probably because I take a lot of short videos. The camera specs say the battery will last 81 minutes when filming in 5.7k 30, and I think that is probably accurate. I think the best thing I can say about the battery life is that I don’t have battery anxiety from it. This is a good thing! There are a lot of other features I don’t use that will make this camera valuable to others; you can use it as a webcam and you can livestream your 360° footage!
I expect good quality from Insta360, and the camera delivers. Moreover, the X3 is feels solid and imo is Insta360’s best built camera yet! I don’t leave home without this camera.
Oh, one more thing that is not about the camera but makes the camera better: the app! Insta360 has a desktop and mobile app in which you can reframe your videos and apply filters and can make special effects! To say the app is great is an understatement and it will allow you to level up your video production and content creation skills.

While there is a small learning curve, especially when it comes to downloading videos, the footage is absolutely CRAZY with the ability to pan around while the video is running! There’s nothing like it. Best Buy ever!

Incredible camera that makes shooting action footage so easy. The 360 field of view is amazing and allows you to capture so much more than a normal action camera. One of the best aspects of it is that you don’t really have to pay much attention to where the camera is positioned. For instance I’ve been in situations filming with my old GoPro and I’m so focused on trying to capture something that I’m not really getting to enjoy what I’m doing. This camera allows you to do both: just position it roughly in the area you want to capture and go about your business – the camera will get everything and you can enjoy snowboarding, surfing, diving, wildlife, whatever. Also super easy to use and easy to download film. The editing process is a little tedious and takes some time to get used to, but the software is decent and gives you a lot of different options.

Ho acquistato la Insta360 X3 con Set di Adesivi Ufficiali e devo dire che ha superato di gran lunga le mie aspettative. Questa action cam è un vero gioiello tecnologico! I sensori da 1/2” da 48 MP garantiscono una qualità d’immagine impressionante, sia per i video che per le foto. I video 360 in Active HDR a 5.7K sono nitidi e dettagliati, perfetti per catturare ogni angolazione senza perdita di qualità. Le foto a 360° da 72 MP sono incredibilmente realistiche, con colori vivaci e una definizione mozzafiato.
L’obiettivo singolo 4K è ideale per chi cerca riprese tradizionali di alta qualità, ma è la stabilizzazione che mi ha davvero colpito: anche nelle situazioni più movimentate, i video risultano fluidi e privi di vibrazioni. Inoltre, il fatto che sia impermeabile la rende perfetta per le avventure outdoor, senza dovermi preoccupare delle condizioni atmosferiche.
Un altro dettaglio interessante è il set di adesivi ufficiali, che dona un tocco di personalizzazione in più alla cam. In conclusione, consiglio vivamente la Insta360 X3 a chiunque cerchi una action cam versatile, potente e affidabile. Non ne rimarrete delusi.

For the price, you would think it delivers one of the best quality stuff in the market, but it has some crucial flows.
1- even the 2x zoom in SUCKS, I mean the zoom capability is at potato level even with that 5.7k resolution ( divided by two lenses) . You will be surprised by how much Zoom-In you need in your videos, all sucks.
2- Never seen such lazy company that sold thousands if not millions of their product to come up with a desktop app that has basic editing abilities. You know, 360 shots need special apps, so if you use the one that comes with the camera, you will not be able to Edit and combine multiple shots, which means you can’t edit multiple shots together, ah also can’t Cut-trim in the middle of the videos, either cut the start or the end basically.
3- The accessories which fits the camera are too overpriced.
So the camera is conditional and it fits taking shots without any zooming later on and the camera should always be close to the target that you want to film.

Impressions Générales et Précautions :
Cette caméra se distingue par sa robustesse et son coté “massif”, signes de qualité, malgré sa petite taille. L’écran est particulièrement pratique, grand et réactif.
Toutefois, la fragilité potentielle des lentilles et de l’écran en mode action soulève des préoccupations.
Alors oui, il existe des protections d’écran ou de lentilles, mais je n’avais aucune envie de devoir les enlever et les recoller à chaque passage dans l’eau.
Opter pour une assurance à été pour moi la solution plus évidente et efficace. Amazon en propose une pour un prix très acceptable au regard des garanties proposées.
Qualité d’Image :
Équipée d’un capteur CMOS de 1/2″, la X3 offre d’excellentes images en 5,7K pour les vidéos 360° et des photos (72MP). Bien que légèrement inférieure à la Insta360 1-inch, elle reste impressionnante (et la 1-inch n’est pas étanche)
Le mode Mono-objectif en 4K convient parfaitement pour des prises de vue standard, l’image est de moins bonne qualité qu’un iPhone 15, mais, je ne voyais pas accrocher mon téléphone sur le capot de ma voiture.
Cependant, il est à noter que la qualité de l’image, tant en mode 360° qu’en prise de vue avec un seul objectif, se dégrade en conditions de faible luminosité.
Stabilisation :
La technologie de stabilisation FlowState et le verrouillage de l’horizon à 360° assurent une image stable et fluide, même dans les situations les plus dynamiques. J’ai testé ce système en moto (guidon et poignée passager) et sur le coffre de ma voiture, les résultats sont vraiment sympas et captivants.
Application Mobile :
L’application Insta360 est ultra complète, offrant de nombreuses possibilités de post-production directement sur le smartphone.Cependant, elle demande un peu de temps pour être pleinement maîtrisée, prévoyez quelques heures devant votre téléphone avant de tout comprendre.
Conclusion : Une Caméra Performante avec des Atouts Uniques
Le choix de cette caméra a été motivé par sa capacité unique à filmer à 360°, une fonctionnalité qu’on ne retrouve nulle part ailleurs.
