Very comfortable and lightweight. Easily fits in my pockets, good Carta display with a lot of fuctionality, already setup my brightness and warm colors schedule. Reads any format, just plug to your PC and copy your books, or download directly from website or using Pocketbook cloud. Good interface and navigation, customizable. Love it, thank you Pocketbook Team!

I have used Kindles, Kobos, and Onyx Boox e-readers for many years. Kindle is great for people who want to stay in the Amazon ecosystem as Kindles don’t easily break out of that walled garden despite the recent addition of epub support and some options for getting books onto a Kindle that don’t come from Amazon. But for people with epub libraries, I have generally recomendded Kobo or Onyx, depending on how much one wants to do with their e-reader. For reading, I think something like the Kobo Clara is a fierce competitor for this device. It is about the same size and price, but offers Pocket integration, Overdrive support (for library books), and audiobook support with a decent store for purchasing books if one wants to go that route. This PocketBook Verse is a solid e-reader, but it doesn’t offer nearly as many features for the price. It does have a very solid browser and a usable if somewhat clunky RSS reader. Nevertheless, the PocketBook ecosystem still isn’t really optimized for the US market. That means this reader is best for people who already have epub libraries they want to put onto this reader. That can be done via USB or via the SD card slot. I was able to put hundreds of books on a card and the reader acknowledged them and brought them into the library view with no issues. I think for the money, one should consider the Kobo Clara as it seems to offer more value for the money. The six-inch size is nice for travel and is more compact than my Onyx Boox Nova Air C, but in general I’d probably still opt to travel with the Boox because of the extra functionality it offers.

This reader has everything that I need. It’s a little slow to load up a book or comic initially but reading them is fine. I love that it has an SD card slot and buttons, and there are a lot of customizations for button mapping and gestures.

The store isn’t great, but I don’t need to use it to get my books so it isn’t a problem for me.

I have a 13-inch iPad and was always looking forward to investing in a good E-Reader. Purchased this E-Reader almost a year ago so this is a long-term review. Kindles are limited in terms of storage (ones with 128GB are really expensive) and sideloading books, PDF and EPUB files. was a little skeptical in terms of the company and how the software would turn up. Almost a year later I can assure you that this is one of my best tech purchases. The text is nice and sharp. The backlight is on point though I’ve not used it a lot. I like using a natural light source or an external light source. the 128GB SD card support essentially means you can have over 5000 EPUB books onboard. Highly Recommended!

I ordered this because I have not used an e-reader before and was eager to try one. As far as reading goes, it’s fine. The screen, while small, is very clear and sharp. Both text and images display clearly in black and white. The display is similar to the old “page white” monitors, for those of us old enough to remember those. The controls and gestures work fine. One thing I do not like about the display is that when a page is blank, I just get a white screen so it looks like it is still loading. It should have some sort of icon or watermark to show the user that the device is displaying a blank page. The device has wi-fi, but to be honest, it is of no use to me at all. The device is set up to only allow downloading books to the device via wi-fi in three ways: 1) Buy them through their shop (requires an account) 2) Transfer them through DropBox (requires an account) 3) email them to the device (requires an account). So no matter how you do it, if you want to transfer books via wi-fi, you will need to create an account. All my books are stored on my NAS drive accessible through my wi-fi, yet this device cannot access them. This concerns me because I do not want to create accounts with various third parties (and infringe on my privacy) just to get a book onto this thing. I used the USB C port to transfer books via my PC. This e-reader shows up as a flash drive and you can just transfer the books as you would any other files. To its credit, the transfers are quite fast and the device can hold a great number of books, especially if you use a micro-SD card in the provided slot. I transferred something around 500 books in a few minutes and there is plenty of room to spare. I am concerned that there is a flyer with the device warning how fragile the screen is and how important it is to protect the screen with a case, and yet no case or protection of any kind is provided, so be prepared to immediately buy a case for it if you buy this thing. So I will rate this device for stars for being good for reading, with fast file transfers via USB and large storage capacity, but privacy concerns due to its inability to transfer files via wi-fi without creating external accounts and having a fragile screen that comes with no protection. Four stars.

I had an epub collection beforehand and this works perfectly. had no issues at all with the transfer through email and through PC link unlike some other reviews.
