It’s easy to get stuck in a rut with e-readers. If the reader only supports a limited range of formats it can be difficult to find what you want, and if you already have copies it can be a hassle to load the files in a way they can be found and presented appropriately.
The Pocket Book Verse Pro Color is a long name for a surprisingly small and light e-reader. The form factor is smaller and thinner than similar sized big name readers with the same screen size. The back is lightly textured so it feels like a slightly rough cardboard and provides a secure but not aggressive grip. The buttons are intuitive, and the display is easy to read.
Best of all it can handle almost any document format you may find. Adding files is as easy as copying them to a thumb drive, and the Pocketbook was seen as an external drive by both my Apple and Linux devices and even my Android phone. This makes transferring new discoveries to it a breeze wherever I am. Whether the document is MOBI, EPUB, or PDF they render quickly and clearly. Note that if you have problems with the screen brightness the auto-brightness mode tries to maintain the level of brightness the brightness setting is set to, so if your device arrives set at the darkest end of teh scale it can look pretty rough until you slide the brightness to a more usable level. Once you set the screen how you like it it really is a joy to use, and handles colors and images in an acceptable way.
It really is a very accomplished reader, and works very well. My only minor complaints are that the materials feel a bit flimsy, so I would be worried if it got dropped or bumped, and that the physical buttons feel like they will break or jam in place with extended use. I’ve ordered a generic case to keep it protected in my bag, and am being careful turning it on.
If you want an e-reader that is easy to use, and best of all easy to side-load files onto this is a great little device. Whether I’m reading a few pages before falling asleep, or out in the sunshine it is easy to hold, and easy to read. A solid 5 out of 5 stars!

Lector electrónico de excelente calidad pero un poco decepcionante en la pantalla. En la foto que adjunto se puede ver a la izquierda la pantalla del antiguo lector electrónico Pocketbook Modelo PB633 Kaleido 1 que tiene la pantalla blanca y mejor que el nuevo modelo PB634K3 Kaleido 3 a la derecha con la pantalla que tiende mucho al color rojo. incluso con la temperatura de color establecida en cero. Me sentí muy muy decepcionado. Los nuevos modelos Kobo Color Kaleido 3 también son mejores en la definición del color.

Was waiting for kobo’s new model in B/W. But in the end went with a pocketbook color and have no regrets. It’s a bit more technical for purchases, however you own what you purchase vs another well established popular brand. Loading your ebooks or audio books through their cloud transferring is easy and it supports many file types.
For those that are looking for advanced functionality it’s got you.
For those that what simplicity, this may not be your go-to choice. Kobo would be the better alternative.

I love the size and weight of the the Pocketbook Verse models – fits in the hand very comfortably and the buttons are in a great location for page turning.
The new color layer dims the screen a bit but can be worked around once you turn on the frontlight. Color makes the covers pop and color images in some of the books I read looks great. Everyone has their own opinions on the color vs. b&w contrast but I personally don’t mind it that much.
Pocketbook’s built in store is pretty useless if you’re in the US – it is one of the first things I moved off the quick access bar. However, the system is practically built for sideloading so purchasing epubs from Kobo/Google Play Books/Barnes and Noble/Etc and easily transfer them over with a computer or via email with Send-To-Pocketbook. Another bonus is that this model has usb-C OTG capabilities so the 16gb isn’t that much of a limitation as long as you have a flash drive. The black and white Verse Pro does not have this capability.
I also love how Pocketbook allows you to look directly at your folder structure so organization can be as simple as creating folders/subfolders on the computer and drag/dropping everything into place.
Edit: Added photos to compare the screen of the Verse Pro to Verse Pro Color (Verse Pro Color on the right in the photos). First photo has no backlight on, second is with the Verse Pro Color’s backlight on about 33%.

I liked the compact size and the muted colors. I disliked everything else. It does not accommodate Kindle format, syncing failed every time, moving PDF files into it was cumbersome. There was no logical filing system. Books for it must be purchased from a dedicated website, they are mostly German titles, with few and rather unknown ones in English. I stepped outside my trusted Kindle universe for the first time and regretted it. Built quality was very good, but using it was a nightmare. Had to send it back.

Estaba deseando renovar mi Kindle Paperwhite de 2015 y esta vez quería probar algo diferente, así que elegí este Pocketbook. Lo más importante para mí era poder abrir los ebooks de eBiblio, y cuanto más fácil, mejor. Estoy encantada con este ereader.
✅ Ventajas:
• Tiene cargador USB-C.
• La pantalla se ve genial, tanto en color como en blanco y negro.
• Cuenta con luz cálida y modo oscuro, ideal para leer de noche.
• La navegación es rápida y fluida.
• Es muy sencillo cargar libros desde Pocketbook Cloud, Dropbox, eBiblio, enviarlos por email, etc.
• Puedes configurar casi todo: el menú, los gestos, los botones, hasta cargar tus propias tipografías.
• Es muy ligero.
• Si subes los ebooks a Pocketbook Cloud (tienes 5GB de espacio gratis), puedes leer desde el ordenador, la app del móvil y el ereader, y se sincroniza el progreso de lectura.
❌ Inconvenientes:
• Subrayar es más difícil que en el Kindle, cuesta un poco que el marcador se quede donde quieres.
• No te muestra el tiempo restante para terminar el capítulo (pero sí el número de páginas que quedan).
• La tienda de Pocketbook es muy limitada y no tiene nada interesante. La he quitado del menú de inicio.
⭐ Lo mejor: Leer libros de eBiblio.
En el vídeo enseño cómo descargar libros de eBiblio para leerlos gratis. Kindle no es compatible con eBiblio y Kobo requiere conectar el ereader al ordenador con USB para cargar los libros, pero con el Pocketbook puedes hacerlo solo con WiFi. Aunque va bastante rápido, navegar con una pantalla de tinta electrónica no es lo mismo que con una tablet, por lo que recomiendo consultar el catálogo y pedir el libro desde el móvil o el ordenador, y después solo descargarlo desde el navegador del Pocketbook. Me encanta que puedas ver en la portada cuántos días te quedan para devolver el préstamo, algo que no he visto en otras marcas.

I was looking for a replacement for my old Bookeen and remembered this brand as my mother has been using one heavily for 8+ yrs. The screen quality is even good enough for comic books which is a huge thing in my eyes for the price. Still the size is handy and you can take it anywhere without fear as the build is robust. Buttons for page turning (for those of us who dislike to swipe), easy handling and have not come across an ebook format it cannot read. Would prefer SD card slot but that was unfortunately not an option. All in all i cannot recommend this enough.

This PocketBook Verse Pro e-reader is a fantastic device for anyone who loves to read. The color screen is easy on the eyes and glare-free, making it comfortable to read for hours. The super thin and compact design makes it so easy to carry around everywhere you go. The text-to-speech and Bluetooth features are also great for listening to audiobooks. The SMARTlight and IPX8 waterproof rating are added bonuses. It’s a great e-reader for enjoying books and audiobooks in color.

J’ai longtemps attendu le nouveau kindle couleur ….pour finalement ne pas l’acheter!! Car trop trop cher et ne proposant rien de plus que ce que propose la concurrence.
Ce nouveau pbook me convient parfaitement, je l’ai eu pour 138e occasion et il est comme neuf! Les couleurs sont douces j’ai pu transférer des ebooks par mail ..pour l’instant je suis satisfait.
Je veux protester aussi contre l’inflation des prix des produits et services Amazon comme prime qui est injustifiée.. bien sur on peut ne pas adhérer ou acheter …ce que je fais

J’ai pensé le retourner …mais je me rends compte que les couleurs du kindle colorsoft sont aussi pales…
On peut envoyer les livres via e-mail.
Et en lisant les commentaires j’ai vu que les couvertures qui ne venaient pas du magasin kindle n’étaient tout simplement pas affichées sur le kindle colorsoft…ce qui est inadmissible!!!!!
Et encore une fois le kindle colorsoft est une ENORME DECEPTION avec un prix bien trop élevé.
Ce pocket book est une excellente alternative, car il fait la même chose pour 2x moins cher
25/11 mise à jour
Après utilisation je trouve que cette liseuse a quelques défauts: l’écran clignote parfois Est-elle est peu réactive, par ailleurs les couleurs sont pales…mais rien de rédhibitoire pour un usage de liseuse au quotidien:)
J’apprécie le fait qu’il n’y ait pas de “cloud” comme chez kindle qui oblige de télécharger de nouveau à chaque fois vos livres…et les pages sont indiqués on n’a pas juste un pourcentage de progression…
Et donc pour le prix encore et attendu qu’il y aura une autre génération avec de nouvelles améliorations je reste satisfait de ma liseuse.

È il mio primo e Reader e adesso, a distanza di qualche settimana, posso dire di aver fatto la scelta giusta per le mie esigenze.
È compatto e leggerissimo (solo 182g), posso portarlo ovunque e caricare un’infinità di libri senza essere vincolata dal formato.
È impermeabile, veloce nella transizione e apprezzo molto il fatto di poter suddividere la libreria a mio piacimento.
Altro punto a favore per me è la batteria: dura veramente tanto, lo uso tutti i giorni e devo ancora ricaricarlo dopo la prima volta.
I colori dello schermo sono esattamente come nella presentazione, quindi se cercate qualcosa con una risoluzione eccezionale potreste rimanere delusi, leggete bene le caratteristiche.
Per quanto mi riguarda, lo ricomprerei.
