For RID, the information is blank and does not get updated unless the customer enters data. That’s good, but even better is that they will be updating the software to let the user determine if and when they want to use RID in an upcoming update.
The registration information is solely for interacting with customer care and will not be used for any other purpose.
The geo-fencing has also been removed in a recent update already! There is no download in advance or restrictions imposed by the drone.
And, the bag was updated at customer request to be sleeker with a better zipper and external material.
You can see that they are intensely committed to customer satisfaction, and with these changes there is nothing but excellence in this product! FIVE STARS!

The drone is great, very much worth all the attention it gets at this price. But let me tell you what I don’t like before I tell you what I do like.
Potensic now requires you to associate an email address and account info directly to the drone itself. It always broadcasts it’s ID information when turned on, and you cannot stop that. They have added geo-fencing, and won’t let you fly very far if you don’t register, and at that you can’t use the drone more than a few days if you don’t register. I don’t know if the government made them do it, but this wasn’t the case at all with the ATOM. They don’t even tell you they require this before you purchase it. They make you give them permission to pull the drone data at their will also.
So, for now, it’s a three star review at best. But what about the rest of the flying experience?
The drone is awesome. More stable in flight than the ATOM, much better camera, and a vastly improved remote control that is fabulous to use, has better control features, and feels sturdier. This drone has new, quieter propellers (by a little), far more camera functionality including multiple panorama options, and still great battery life. Distance is superior… Not 10km, but I got over 2 miles away before it started having issues with communication.
The bag is disappointing, once you’ve had the old bag. The older ATOM bag has pockets on the outside, a handle on top of the bag, and a padded shoulder strap. The new bag does not have those, but is otherwise functionally similar.
The batteries are the exact same. The charging dock is too. The propellers are updated, and not interchangable. They offer a protection plan, and if you’re going to crash a few times or fly in the rain, it’s worth it probably. But on the other hand, if you pay attention to where you’re flying, it’s unlikely you’ll crash. There is a deductible required with each drone replacement as well. I’ll keep the money and see what other drones/updates hit the market in the meantime.
I love the drone and it’s capabilities. I just wish they would remove the hokey registration and geo-fencing limitations.

Shamed they don’t make more stars, because this company is full of them. Every aspect of dealing with them has been professional competent & better. The new Potensic Eve App is amazing! Customer service through a basic message system on the app in online customer service & they solved a major issue for me via text & video. Took them under an hour from the time I initiated the request to have it fully resolved. In my experience, it’s been a DJI world & then everybody else, watch out , this company is coming. LOVE This little guy, he’s got attitude, it’s fast, nimble, and confident. A little wind does not bother him at all. He just gets louder & yells at it. Wild little thing!!
Amazing Mini-Drone. This drone has features found in many way more expensive drones. Love that it doesn’t require calibrating every time it takes off or lands AND the batteries support hot-swapping from the drone to the parallel charger. It’s deadly accurate on RTH, never misses the landing pad. The camera is awesome! Flying this in sport mode, with the camera in FPV mode, is a truly immersive experience All in All, this is an everyday go to camera drone that you can trust.

A great upgrade value. Atom 2 is a qualified upgrade and in many ways equal to DJI mini 4Pro. The controller is a great improvement over Atom.
Video/photo is sharp and ability to camera up is improved. You must create an account-more involved so be patient with their process. Uses same battery charger of Atom so upgrading duplicates battery system.

I only got a little usage out of this one before I hit it with my car door and sank it in the Everglades.
The point is, I have other drones to fly, even more expensive ones.
But I will be buying another one right away.
It was a nice, stable, easy to fly drone with a good camera & at least decent range & battery life.
I recommend the Atom 2 to anybody wanting a well thought out mini that’s fun & easy to fly.

My Atom2 has just arrived! And it’s blowing a gale and lashing down as per typical NW UK weather…
First observations:
👀 • Aesthetically, there isn’t much difference between the Atom and the Atom 2
💼 • The bag is quite tidy, more compact and a fixed shoulder strap as opposed to the removable one as before.
🔋• Atom batteries are weighing in at 83.52g whereas Atom2 are 85.44g
⚖️ • Atom weighs in at 162.1g Vs the Atom 2 at 160.89g
🎮 • The controller is HUGE – Atom controller weighs in at 248g whereas the Atom2 controller is double this almost at 423.8g – I think it has neck strap connectors on the bottom – I can see myself investing in one.
It’s charging as we speak and I’ve downloaded the new app – which looks quite tidy..
Will revisit to adjust stars if need be!!

This is the nicest drown I’ve flown!
The biggest pain point is setup. You have to register the drone to fly it. The verification code only lasts a minute which can be problematic. The controller is very heavy duty and easy to use. The time it takes to initially connect to the drone and gets ready to fly can sometimes vary, which is a little odd. The drone also gets very hot while connected, even if its not flying.
The case, charger, and 3 included batteries are a great value add. It’s a pity the controller does not have swappable batteries as well.
This is very east to set up and fly (after reading directions) and both the camera and drone stabilize very well in the wind.

I spent weeks mulling over all the options for drones on the market, not ready to spend $1500 on one yet, so I decided to go with Potensic. This little machine is incredible, the picture quality is insane, the range is good enough, oh and you are not paying for the name like some of the other more expensive options. I’m amazed at the stability this drone has, plus how well built the controller and app are. Can’t wait to see what it can do out in some of the epic locations around me. I included a short sample video shot from my back yard.
