Nice add-on to your X4 camera 🙂
It does reduce the wind noise when you have this windproof foam on the X4.
The only thing I don’t like is that, the cage that i use interfere with the foam.. so I have to adjust a bit
to make sure this works or just remove the protective cage…

I often take my insta360 out on the slopes and there’s usually a ton of wind that you can hear from the camera. These definitely help in reducing that wind noise with some hit to the quality of hearing voices, but I don’t usually want to capture that anyway, just wanting the raw sound of snowboarding without the wind, this will help with that.

These are easy to use noise muffling foam pieces that attach to the phone via velcro. There’s a prickly, thin piece that’s sticky on the other side that attaches to the X4 camera and a foam piece that attaches tot he prickly piece. The foam filters out the wind noise pretty well when recording. I use the X4 camera to record the action that happens on the back of my son’s bike races so the wind doesn’t come in directly in front of the camera but if there’s a crosswind, the audio gets muffled with wind noise. I don’t use these often so I haven’t really tested them fully but they work for what I need them for.

When I first saw these I was concerned they would interfere with the camera’s ability to fit in its case. In fact the design is very well done. The foam pieces are each paired with a small sticky piece for the camera that permits the foam wind muffs to then attach to the microphone area. When you are finished recording, remove the foam pieces and the connecting attachment remains behind – and there are multiple pieces also – six attachment pieces and six foam muffs so once one starts to show wear, just trade it out. They will work on anything the right size, but they’re designed for the Insta360 x4.
It is disappointing to put together a nice video, only for the audio to be ruined by ambient wind. This will resolve that problem and at $13 today they’re affordable and purpose designed. I recommend them.

These have a clever design. You stick one side of the velcro to the camera, the other side has the foam, with the idea being you can take them off between uses.
I’ve found the sticky doesn’t always hold so you pull off the whole thing when trying to get the velcro to let go. That said, they definitely make a difference. They aren’t a complete solution for high wind noise but they make enough of a difference to be worth getting.

facile d’utilisation et génial plus le bruit du vent dans les oreilles

My boyfriend and I ride motorcycles which is our primary use of the Insta360.
We attached these to help muffle the wind noise of the videos and it’s hard to tell if it actually does the job. However the application of the foam was easy enough, and this pack came with more than just one so we have backups if needed, and use for more than one device.

Unprotected mics can be saturated by strong wind, destroying the signal. These foam blocks do a great job reducing the wind over an exposed mic to keep it from saturating. I tested it with my phone right in front of a far, and what was just noise without the foam became really clean with it. The velcro on them is a nice touch, so you can take them off when you don’t need them and not lose them taking your phone out of your pocket.

These work very well and greatly reduce wind noise. The only downside I can see is that they are rather large and may be too large for very small cameras with mic openings close to buttons and edges of the camera. You can cut them down to a smaller size however. If you do that, you will have less double-sided sticky surface holding them on however. Also, although they have hook and loop material so you can remove and put them back on at will, I’m not sure the sticky tape would hold for this purpose. It’s probably better to think of them as being permanently installed.
