This grinder isn’t silent, but it’s a lot quieter than the grinders without the exterior insulation. This one is wider with some sound absortion placed around the motor. The layer of air between the grinding cup and the plastic cover/switch also absorbs some sound, so you’re left with just a low whine, even when grinding.
The tub is also a bit larger than others, holding about 200cc (0.8 cups or 13 tbls) of coffee beans. It grinds to fine very quickly by pushing down and holding the cap/cover.
There’s a seal on the underside of the push cap that keeps the grind from spilling out. The grind bowl twists out to dump the grind or to wash.
The only negative that I see is that I have to rearrange my cupboard shelf for the extra width, as my very old smaller grinder was already a tight fit.

Very impressive size with the convenience of a removable grind cup makes this so useful that it has become the Go-To grinder at work. We make about 4 pots of coffee per day so, needless to say, the grinder has to be convenient. This one fits that requirement!
The most loved feature here is the removeable grind cup. Simply load the beans – we go to the max everytime – place the top on and give a gentle push until you achieve the desired coarseness. Wonderful!
*Please note that you don’t have to push the top down very hard – a gentle touch is all you need to get the grinder going.

I tested this against my old grinder, using a decibel meter app to check the sound levels. The Krups “fast touch” grinder (old enough to have been my grandparents’) produced 70 dB of noise. This one produced… 70 dB. The difference was in the tone. While my old grinder produces a higher whine, this one has fewer high overtones and a lower, more pleasant pitch.
The blade attachment is a peculiar design. It is part of the metal bowl that lifts out, and it’s not anchored in place. It wobbles. When you lock the bowl into the machine, it stabilizes to some extent, but still has about 1mm of play in all directions. The old Krups grinder has no play in the shaft.
It grinds.
Ultimately, the thing that tends to go wrong with these grinders is that the motor burns out one day. I’ll update this if that happens. Until then, this is a good option if it stays under $20.

This is a great quality electric coffee grinder. It is well made, and nicely finished.
This machine can be used to grind coarse salt and spices too. It is easy to clean.
The instructions are straightforward. It doesn’t produce heat when grinding a reasonable amount.
It is not meant to grind for hours in a row.
This lovely coffee grinder is nice for yourself, or giving as a gift.

What an amazing small foot print grinder. This little beast works great in getting the coffee all ground down for the perfect morning brew. My son got me a bag of bean and forget to ask them to grind so I had a choice go back ( about an hour off the mountain ) or get a grinder for future use and that was my choice.
