Description
New studies show that about 90% of non-diabetics have blood sugar dysregulation—which means out-of-whack hunger hormones, chronic inflammation (the cause of most diseases), and always being in the dreaded fat-storing mode, even if you’re eating minimal calories and making “healthy” food choices. The balance of what you put on your plate is vital.
In The Blood Sugar Balance Cookbook, beloved Instagram influencer Meredith Mann of @thepeachiespoon provides recipes that taste like the high-glycemic favorites you love but keep your blood glucose levels stable. Each recipe in the book includes nutritional information so you know you are getting the carbs, protein, and fat you need. Also find tips and tricks for keeping your blood sugar in the low-glycemic, weight-balancing zone.
Keep your blood sugar balanced with options like:
- Protein Cheesecake Parfait
- Pesto Protein Muffins
- Breakfast Meatballs
- Smoked Salmon Toast
- Chicken Spinach Artichoke Bake

My photos aren’t nearly as pretty as the photography in the book (which is gorgeous!) but the recipes taste so dang good! I struggle so badly with hitting my protein goals and have been hypoglycemic my entire life. I’m trying very hard to eat in a way to balance my blood sugar and only 3 days in I am feeling so much better. Not only am I hitting my protein and fiber goals but I haven’t had a single sugar crash symptom and I haven’t been hungry between my normal meals and my one snack time. I’m so excited to try a new recipe tomorrow morning! They’re easy to follow, don’t take too long, and are so yummy. I’m so thankful for Meredith and this book!

Just change your pasta for chickpea pasta, buy cottage cheese in bluk at Costco, put vanilla protein powder in everything sweet, and psyllium husk powder in your smoothies and you have 80% of the recipes of this book. At least it was discounted, I didn’t pay the full price.

An example of jumping on the bandwagon but statements made not accurate.
First thing that put me off was the use of protein powder in most of the recipes. These are really not necessary as you can use natural foods to do the same thing and are also very expensive. The writer may have shares in some companies that produce them, but really it’s just laziness.
The book is aimed more for American readers and the less informed. It’s not really a healthy diet book and certainly not for diabetic readers.
So, not for me, avoiding the beige diet, (white bread and rice, pastas and potatoes etc), fatty starches, which this writer promotes, to lower my blood sugar levels, is a total contradiction to modern medical research. No thank you!
I’ll stick with Dr Mosley and co.

I absolutely love Meredith’s first self-published cookbook which is still available on her website. It’s my favorite of all cookbooks by far! I even took it with me when we evacuated for Hurricane Milton.
This newest cookbook is paperback and looks to have many more family pleasing recipes. I’ve already made the taco casserole on page 101 and everyone loved it. The flourless brownies are a must taste!
I would have liked to see more pictures in this book as it gives me a better idea of what I’m making, and a hardback option would also be nice. I hope to see more fabulous cookbooks from The Peachie Spoon in the future. Maybe one that houses all her amazing creamer recipes!
I’m a big fan and highly recommend purchasing this cookbook. Especially if you like simple, healthy, and tasty!

Love the recipes and meal ideas, need some I gradients I don’t keep on hand and more use of protein powder than I like but it’s still worth it.

Let’s start by saying that I don’t like to cook and get overwhelmed by recipes with a million ingredients. This cookbook makes cooking healthy meals simple and delicious! We have a Peachie Spoon meal almost nightly for dinner – we also have one of her shakes almost daily for breakfast. These recipes balance your blood sugar, keep you feeling full for a long time and taste great! This is my favorite cookbook. The Peachie Spoon has helped me so much on my health journey. Buy the cookbook, you won’t regret it and also follow her on Instagram – She will change your life one recipe at a time!

5stars –
Giving this book five stars because I adore Meredith and her IG content and I really do love the recipes. If you are someone who looks at macros and tries to track them just be aware that so many in these recipes are very messed up. I understand small differences in protein/carb count based on using a different type of yogurt or cottage cheese etc. but some of them just left me scratching my head as to how she came up with the macro count. In the N’Oatmeal recipe which should be fairly low carb due to using only 1/4 cup of coconut flour the nourishment breakdown says there is no carb/starch but the macro count says 33g of carbs. 1/4 cup coconut flour has less than 20 carbs no matter which brand you use. Again if you are a seasoned macro counter, you will just figure it out yourself but there were some recipes I hesitated to make because the carb count was so high. Then when I realized it was wrong, I was able to try more recipes and enjoy them. I like the nourishment breakdowns much better as they are typically more accurate.
So many don’t care about the macros though and that’s why I still give this book 5 stars and have recommended it to so many people. The recipes are simple and delicious and I love being able to prep so much ahead of time for my family of five. Faves are the taco casserole and carnitas power bowls. So many other good ones! Initially found her on IG because of her balanced smoothies which are just incredible!
