The capacity of the rice cooker is counted in these 6-ounce cups of uncooked short grain white rice. One 6-ounce cup of raw rice makes about 2 to 3, 6-ounce cups of cooked rice

Got this rice cooker open boxed so the price was already fantastic compared to other companies. It’s super simple to use, just measure the amount of rice you want wash it and flip the switch. It’s also big enough to make rice for a family of 6. I highly suggest this

I saw a friend use this rice cooker at his house while making dinner, and thought that it was neat; rice came out perfectly. I figured that all rice cookers are the same, so I ordered another more inexpensive model of rice cooker that’s similar size (brand starts with an “A”). The rice in that cooker burned, and so I returned it. I ordered this one, which I should have initially, and it works great. It’s well constructed (much more so than the other brand), and easy to use. Rice came out perfectly; fluffy, ideal stickiness. Easy to clean up and small so that it doesn’t take up much space. Highly recommended.

After considerable pressure from my daughter, whose Asian friend says their family’s rice cooker is in use pretty much 24/7, we decided to buy one for our family. After researching quite a few models, I went with the Zojirushi because of its simple design and good reputation. It was a fine decision. We use this thing all the time. My kids love being able to cook rice for themselves.
Pros
* Controls – strike that, control singular – so simple that even your grandma who could never quite bring herself to use a cordless phone can’t mess it up
* Very easy to clean
* Rice tastes much better than what you get with the stovetop
* Works well whether you’re cooking a lot at once or just one side serving
Cons
* Does not require you to hook it up to WiFi, install an app on your phone, and confirm your identity just to make it stop impersonating a WiFi access point [OK, this is only a con according to engineers who work for LG]
Other Thoughts
*Saying it cooks 3 cups is a poor translation – it cooks up to 3 gou of rice, with a gou being a standard measure in Japan of enough dry rice for an entree-size serving. A gou is 180 cubic centimeters, or roughly 3/4 of an American “cup” measurement. Americans tend to serve rice as a side dish, and I find half a gou per person works well. As far as I can tell all rice cookers, even American and European brands, measure their capacity in gou but confusingly call it cup in English. The bottom line is that if you want to use American measuring cups with a rice maker, then figure a 3-cup cooker can only take 2 cups.
*Don’t worry if Uncle Ben isn’t familiar with measurements in gou. To cook rice, all you need is the ratio of water to rice, which is usually 3:2 but can be different for certain rice varieties. In other words, if Uncle Ben says put in 2 cups of rice and 3 cups of water, but you just want to cook a 1/2 gou, you put in your 1/2 gou of rice and add 3/4 gou of water.
*The cooking bowl lifts out for easy cleaning. I clean it along with the lid and accessories with a bit of soap and a sponge [sponges without an abrasive side are available on Amazon or at many Asian grocery stores]. A few quick swipes, rinse twice, and it’s done.

To preface, I’m an Asian who grew up always eating rice, so when I moved out, I was keen on getting a cheap but decent rice cooker ASAP. I’ve had it for a little under a year now, and for comparison I’ll use my parents’ Cuckoo CR-0631F, which I’ve always liked.
I wasn’t expecting much out of this rice cooker when I bought it due to the price, but I trust Zojirushi so I had my fingers crossed. Overall, it’s a good purchase!
Good points of the Zojirushi:
+ consistently well-cooked rice
+ very easy to use (just put rice, water, and then flip the switch)
+ is obvious when it is on (red light emits)
+ well-priced (cheap!)
+ has lasted longer than I expected
+ easy to clean, except for the first bad point
Bad points:
– has an issue with water bubbling/spilling out the top sometimes (along the steam escape hole and sides of the lid), which is annoying and messy. countertop on which it stands ends up wet and sticky with rice water. have to use a cloth to prevent this from making a mess
–> good point: it doesn’t happen ALWAYS, mostly only when cooking smaller amounts of rice
– no “warm” option, so any rice you cook will get cold if you leave it in the cooker. means you have to either freeze/reheat the rice or cook new rice every time
– occasionally rice is very watery after it is finished cooking, but it quickly becomes the right consistency/texture once taking it out of the pot to cool
For the person/family that doesn’t often eat rice, this is a great purchase. The downsides are so minor that you won’t notice them if you’re only using this occasionally. The price is good. It is a very basic rice cooker, but it is consistent, reliable, and sturdy.
However, for the person/family that often eats rice, this might become annoying, as it has for me. I’m looking into getting a Cuckoo with a warming function in the future.

Me gustó mucho. Es pequeña por lo que sirve bien para una ración razonable para 4 personas. Fácil de lavar y muy fácil de utilizar.

Very pleased with this little gem. This is our second rice cooker. Although we were pleased with the previous “other brand” that made wonderful rice during the 12 years of ongoing use, we decided to replace it with the Zojirushi based on reputation, size and looks and so far we have not been disappointed. The rice turns out perfect every time. It fits nicely in the cupboard, looks good on the counter and it is super simple to use. It has not produced any of the messiness that has been reported in other reviews (and that we experienced with the former rice cooker, which I think may be common with most rice cookers of this style). Very pleased with our purchase and highly recommend.
