Works great with my Motherboard, RAM and Liquid Cooler. I bought all my PC components on Amazon because it was less expensive than my local electronics store (sorry!!).
Audio –
It’s a good processor if you want to move to the AM5 platform that competes with the 5800x3d in gaming and beats it in a number of cases in gaming. Pretty strong CPU for being released in 2022. I’m waiting for Zen 6 and am not impressed with the 9800X3D in terms of general performance despite it being the most powerful gaming CPU, and that’s coming from someone who games a lot. At 1440p it slays with a 4070 Ti Super. Have 32GB of DDR5 6000CL30 RAM so that helps as well. General rule of thumb for the modern desktop, don’t get anything less than 16 threads is my recommendation, this CPU fills that void. If the 9700X is the same price as this or very close, get that instead and wait for ZEN 6.

Its cost is reasonable and its performance good. AMD is a real competitor, you can spend the extra 2-300 dollars on an intel chip sure, but from what I hear it’s not much better. If you’re a gamer, this gives what you’re looking for.

When I said I wanted an upgrade, I didn’t expect this much. I’m coming from a crispy Ryzen 7 3750H. Yeah, that old. I wanted a serious boost from my last setup (laptop) but didn’t want a 7800X3D, so I settled on this one.
This thing is fast! Games load within seconds, there’s no stuttering or lag, and it can render minecraft, 30 chunks, with shaders at a good 80 FPS (with a 4060). I see no downsides to this CPU. It’s perfect for mid-range builds!

Got this CPU for a new build to replace my existing AM4 system and it’s night and day for my %1 lows. Playing HellDivers 2 was a struggle before where I would get random spikes and dips into the high 30’s and low 40’s. Now we stay around the 90fps mark using Benchmarkings optimized settings. I don’t have the spikes anymore and I haven’t noticed any dips. All while using the same RTX 3070ti. Temps hover around 74c using a 360mm AIO. Super happy with it! 🥰
If playing on Ultra at Native 1440p it’s a solid 60fps with dips into mid 50’s when playing Super Helldive L10. 90fps if running Quality upscaling.
Optimized settings at 1440p and Quality net me 100-130fps.

This is the second Ryzen 7 7700X I’ve installed and both rigs have been awesome. Paired with other like-budgeted components, this is a great foundation for a high-end 1080p or med-range 1440p machine.

What a great CPU. No matter what I throw at this CPU it takes it. Great for gaming. AMD has been my go-to for over 20 years now and I stumbled once and bought an Intel and that won’t happen again. I run my servers with AMD and they never fail and take all demand with no problems. When using Linux with Intel I would get some problems so that cured me now all I use is AMD and everything is running smoothly. As long as I keep building PCs for my friends and some businesses in my area they will all have AMD CPUs so I know I will never have any problems or calls for service. The Rizen 7 7700X runs cool and never gets over 130 degrees when doing heavy gaming when playing with 50 others or more in the game while running other programs in the background. I love AMD and lets not forget about overclocking which is so easy and never hurts the CPU

The 7000 series processors are notorious for running at high temperatures, undoubtedly due to higher power consumption and additionally, this is assissted due to the thick IHS.
This processor, the 7700x, is fast (really good for mid range CPUs) and I was able to install it without any hiccups.
If you have kept up with the news regarding the AM5 motherboards, some of them (specially ASUS, along with some GIGABYTE boards) were literally frying the CPU along with the socket due to the unreasonably high voltage deliveries to the processor. (Additionally, out of the box, AMD has set these processors to run at 95°C, further adding to the problem and they said ‘it is MADE to run at 95 degress by design’ – still I am a bit uneasy hearing this.)
This was the story of nearly a few months to a year ago. HOWEVER, since then, the constant BIOS updates have really stabilized the boards and I can safely say, AM5 platform has stepped into the mainstream territory.
Some tips I would suggest, just for the safety, first of all, these new AM5 boards come with ‘BiosFlashback’ feature so you could update the BIOS to the lastest version without installing anything else. Watch videos for further details.
Secondly, I believe the 95°C ‘being normal’ is uncomfortable for a lot of people. What I did with my ASUS b650 E-F motherboard is that I tweaked the BIOS a bit and undervolted the CPU to 1.20V from 1.30V. Also did some adjustments with the Precision Boost Overdrive (PBO) setting, the Curve optimizer and I set the Thermal throttle limit to 75°C which I feel comfortable with.
No doubt, my processor runs at around 95% capacity BUT staying at 75 degrees, I feel much comfortable now. You won’t see any noticeable change in performance and your processor stays cool.
It’s much better to stay safe with these temperatures and expand the lifespan of these processors.

Edit: It’s just over a month since I have been using this processor. Let me mention, the temperature doesn’t really go above 60°C and averages around 55 degrees.
The only time I hit 75°C was when I stress tested it.
My computer is running smooth and I’m really satisfied with the results, the main one being, it is not going supernova.
Oh and just to mention, I am using an AIO cooler.
Edit 2: Okay, I’ve to mention something after using the processor for 4 months. In the previous month, I tested it on stock settings. No undervolting nor thermal throttle limit, just some modified PBO settings and I’ve noticed the temperature doesn’t hit 95 degrees at all. It averages around 60. The only time it really heats up is when I focus on some CPU intensive tasks.
My new recommendation would be, to use the processor on stock settings. I was handicapping it a bit.

Nach dem Upgrade meine Hauptsystems (auf AM5/R7 9800X3D, 4090 OC etc.) auch bei der Ablöse eines Zweit PCs für die aktuelle/upgradefähige Plattform AM5 entschieden, und dafür eine Mid-Tier/Allround (Allgemeines Arbeiten + leichte Workstation + Gaming) CPU gesucht.
War 2022 bei Erscheinen eine der schnellsten CPUs, nun Ende 2024 immer noch sehr gut und mehr als ausreichend flott für einen Allround PC. Leistungsaufnahme/Wärmeentwicklung – wie gewohnt beim AMD sehr angenehm. Preis bei Amazon (276€) – für das Gebotene, auch sehr schön.

The processor offers a good balance between productivity and gaming. As a casual gamer, I was looking for balance in the next pc build. With 8 cores, this CPU allows for multitasking, and it can handle more processor intensive applications.
This CPU got paired with a value-budget board ASRock A620M-HDV/M.2 and a RTX 4060 TI 16gb along with 32 gbs of ddr5. The system runs very smooth.
This CPU was also paired with a Thermalright Peerless Assassin cooler which has worked really well. The CPU seemed to idle 37C in the bios and then about 47 in windows 11. The CPU temps haven’t gotten above 75c. During gaming or any intense process, the CPU hovers around 60c to 70c. Overall, I’m satisfied with this CPU.
