What really impressed me as I unboxed and assembled the bike – was just how well built it was – very solid. The instructions were okay but I suggest watching a You Tube video on assembling this bike. The computer monitor really did need some suggestions of how to insert the wiring. With the help of You Tube…it went quickly.
Once on the bike – it felt sturdy….a few tweaks and bolt tightening removed any movement. The flywheel is particularly smooth and I felt no difference from much more expensive fitness centre bikes. The monitor is basic – but provides most of what you need to know during a workout. (time, calories, distance, speed etc.). There is no holder for a phone or tablet….but that I imagine could be added to the post at some point.
The adjustment for leg length is manual and a bit stiff but not something you are doing continuously so not an issue. What IS important is you can be over 6 FT and be comfortable as well as just over 5 FT!
Having just had hip surgery and unable yet to ride an upright bike….the Marcy really has permitted me to “get back in the saddle” and get some aerobic activity and leg muscle strengthening. There are 8 resistance levels which is enough for a decent workout.
Those looking for a “professional” type bike will need to spend more but for anyone looking for a well constructed and quiet recumbent bike at home….the Marcy MC-709 should be more than adequate. Recumbent bike reviews on You Tube and online have recommended this as a good budget bike for several years now and for good reason. (I did not receive any payment for this review).

This bike is ideal for me. Post-stroke it’s got the ideal tension for me to rehab with. It’s easier for me to get on as no real leg lifting is needed and I can get my foot into the pedals. It was delivered very quickly and I would definitely recommend. My husband says the bike was straight forward to build – not as easy as putting up a shelf – but good that it’s not.

I have a knee injury and walking on my treadmill causes me ongoing pain. I wanted to try switching to a stationary bike but I didn’t want to spend a lot of money to give it a try. This thing was cheaper than my local gym and is pretty sturdy.
The instructions suggest an assistant for assembly but I was able to put it together myself. I didn’t time myself but I would estimate a half hour or less. The instructions were pretty clear, my one complaint is that the first step is ‘Do not tighten Nuts and Bolts until instructed to do so’ in bold font, clearly important. But then there is only instruction to tighten the nuts and bolts in step 1 (there are 5 steps to assembly). Seems like they missed something there but it’s a minor complaint.
Gave it a ten minute test ride after assembly and it seems pretty sturdy. The negative feedback I’ve heard from people who buy cheap bikes is that they are loud and/or wobbly and this one is neither. The seat adjusts up and down in set increments but not forward or backwards. There is no adjustment for the handlebar. The tension doesn’t seem to do much of anything. Might make a difference after more than 10 minutes but it’s not noticeable in the 10 minute test ride I took.
There is no place to put anything (water bottle, phone, etc) so I may grab a cheap kid’s bike basket if it will fit, if not I will move it near a table. The seat is pretty uncomfortable but that’s a common problem with stationary bikes and I didn’t expect much at this price point.
Overall I’d recommend it as a starter bike but not for a long-term option because tension doesn’t seem to be there and the lack of forward/backward seat adjustment and handlebar adjustments.

It takes two people who get along well to assemble this bike, but it works great and we’ve been very pleased with it. It is so quiet and the seat is very comfortable. It was reasonably priced as well.
My father was prescribed exercise, but he has no cartilage in his knees, so walking is painful. He can get as much exercise as he can stand on the bike. It is easy for him to step into the space and lift his feet to the pedals. The timer/lap counter is easy to use and read.

A lot of the reviews for this exercise bike indicate that it’s a very good buy for the money. It is a basic bike, but very well built and solid. The seat is about the only deficit with it… not that comfortable, and limited in its adjustments to up and down. The magnetic mechanism is almost silent, smooth, and easily adjusted. I imagine it will last a long time (especially since I need more discipline to use it than I presently possess). I would say it compares to many exercise bikes costing hundreds more, and surpasses most of the ones that use friction belts and flywheels. Great for the cost, shipped well, assembled reasonably easily, looks good, and is an all around good purchase.

This product arrived very quickly with all working parts. The back padding seems to be 2 separate foam pieces but it is not noticeable or change the operation or look so I was not concerned enough to send it back. This is just an observation. I also do not feel it when sitting. It was easy to put together as we followed a Youtube video when assembling. It helps to have another person if you can but you may be able to assemble ok with one person. We had no issues putting this together.
This specific item was recommended to me to use by my doctor to strengthen my knee. I originally tried the exerciser pedaler at a much cheaper price but I needed more resistance to strengthen my knee better. I am 5’2 with a 30″ seam and I am able to use this bike just fine. If you are shorter and concerned about the leg extension and being able to reach the pedals I would think you would not have a problem if you are an inch or 2 shorter but you can always use a back rest pad to put you closer to the pedal.
I like that it is light weight and I can easily move to another area of the house or even on the patio if I wanted to. The rollers don’t work the best but it is light enough that I just slide it where I want it to go and can move it by myself with no problem. It is also durable and feel it will last me for years to come.
The padding is firm but not uncomfortable to me as some have stated. If you wanted you could use a memory foam pad to sit or lean back on. It did seem really firm at first but I have gotten used to it and I don’t need the padding. It seems of good solid structure and I like that.
The resistance I feel is very good. I was pretty weak and had to stop a couple of times on level 1 just but it was not a problem – I was just out of shape. Now that I have been using it for a few weeks I feel I am ready for level 2.
It is quiet but there is a very slight low noise in the pedal. I use in another room while others are sleeping and it does not wake anyone up at all. I will try to use a spray lubricant (NOT WD40 as I am told this will dry out working parts) to see if it helps. Overall I do recommend this product for the price, value and durability I am happy with it.
