My wife suffered an injury which left her unable to see properly for nearly two years. (Everything was fuzzy and eye glasses didn’t help. Scary stuff. -Thankfully, her vision has slowly regenerated and now 90% back to normal). For the first few months, she was effectively blind. Things got better, but it wasn’t possible to read anything but huge text.
I got her this reader and cranked the font size. She cried. It allowed her to read again. Yeah, a full page of text was only about 8 lines long, but it was possible.
So.., my positive feelings toward this reader are colored by some emotion, but I think I can objectively say that it’s a well engineered device. Solidly built, the screen is gorgeous, the OS isn’t buggy nonsense like I’ve experienced with other readers. Good battery life. It’s basically a standard high-quality e-reader. And it’s big. And it wasn’t nine hundred dollars like all the others at the time I bought it. (Honestly, it was half the price of competitors, and that felt too good to be true. Turns out to have been the exception to that cynical rule. Sometimes something really is that good.)
I will offer one criticism; Personally, I don’t like the placement of the physical buttons, (My own little 7″ Kobo Libra perfected the ergonomics of the button and the “how-do-I-hold-it?” problem). But my wife doesn’t use the buttons, preferring the touch screen feature, so for her it’s a non-issue.
In any case, we both love the InkPad Lite.
Recommended.

While the device is a good reader, its size unexpectedly makes balance a bit difficult while reading. Also, dark pages are a bit hard to read, perhaps due to its lower resolution. This affects reading comics, for instance, tough.

In some ways, my venerable Sony PRS-505 with it’s 6 inch screen is better to read PDF files for me. The InkPad Lite is unable to adjust the zoom levels of the fonts on PDF files like it can with epub files. It can do an overall zoom of a PDF file’s page view, but that means you have to deal with parts of the page not showing when zooming in too much. The PRS-505 is able to zoom the font levels of PDF files, although that sometimes comes at the cost of images not showing correctly. Overall, for actual reading the PRS-505 wins here.
On the InkPad Lite, a PDF file on a fit to page view does not fill the entire screen vertical-wise so you get a smaller image than the full 9.7 inches. To me, the fonts look somewhat small. It’s almost like reading a small paperback’s font size.
Now for the positives!
The build quality is great. The default backlight settings look great to me. I skipped the wifi setup for now so I can’t comment on the online features. Dragging and dropping of files from a PC works well and the directory structure is very intuitive. Epub files appear to work very well, the whole screen is filled and the font size can be adjusted.

Very good Ink EReader, battery seems to last,
sometimes it starts up slow. but overall a very good product.
And its 9.7 Inches. Great for reading on the go or even around the house.
Pretty good graphics to read eMagazine also.

My Likebook Mars Android e-reader stopped charging after 4+ years of regular use and this Pocketbook Inkpad Lite was bought as a replacement.
Pros:
-9.7″ screen. The resolution on this is lower than most other modern e-readers at just 150 ppi which concerned me when ordering but it’s fine for reading books. I first bought an e-reader due to my eyesight getting to the point where I couldn’t read small paperback text without reading glasses and I can read everything fine on this screen and can’t tell a difference between the quality when reading epub books on this screen vs the quality of the 300 ppi screen on my old Likebook.
-It boots quickly. It did seem to hang a bit on first boot, but that was due to it organizing all of the ebooks on my memory card- mostly in epub format – on first boot.
-Has a microSD card slot, which made it easy to move all my books from my old e-reader to this one.
-OS easy to figure out and change settings to my preferences. Can set font and font size for use with all of your books vs my Lifebook where you had to set it on a book by book basis. Didn’t like some of the default settings – especially where you touched the screen to turn back a page – and was easily able to change to my liking.
-USB-c charging. Nice being able to charge with same cable/charger as most of my other newer devices.
-Backlight works well to see all text in the dark and can be adjusted to your personal preferences.
-Cover – bought seperately – can close cover to put it to sleep.
Neutral:
-Physical buttons that can be used to turn the pages. Nice feature I guess, but still find it easier to just touch the screen. Do like where the power on button is compared to my old Likebook where that button was on the bottom and I would frequently turn it off by mistake – not an issue with this Pocketbook.
-Not as customizable as Andriod e-reader. But 99% of my use on my Android e-reader was reading books in epub format and this works great for that.
-Changing the defaults seems to take a few minutes to register. Thought at first my changes weren’t being registered but they were.
Summary:
This is the 5th ereader that I’ve owned and so far it’s far and away my favorite. It boots quickly, I love the size, and its easy to navigate. It may not have some of the features of some others, but it works great for reading books in epub format, which is what makes up the majority of my e-library.

It’s capacity doesn’t leave me wanting much more, I haven’t even touched the SD card yet. The screen is nice and crisp for what it is. As long as you understand the limitation of e ink screens. It’s size is a huge plus for me. I love larger e readers, and this is the one I’m happiest with so far. Being able to easily transfer books over with my phone is nice if it’s just a single book, and I use the pc cable for the rest. I love having buttons on the side, since I prefer the feel over just touch screen scrolling
If I had to complain about anything, they would be minor annoyances. The wifi is sort of slow, but that’s to be expected. I just use the cable for most book transfers.
The company doesn’t sell the case for this one anymore it seems? I just got a cute one from Walmart instead, so that’s fine or w/e. My biggest two complaints are simply. The wakeup from sleep function can be a bit slow, so I find myself pushing the power button a few times trying to figure out if it’s slow or I didn’t hit it long enough. Using the turn oage button on pdfs tends to turn it a weird amount instead of just to the next page. Like a page and 15%. And my biggest complaint is simply that there’s no night mode for the reader. It’s not the worst since you can turn on the warmlight all the way and it doesn’t hurt your eyes as much at night, but I’d really appreciate black with white text for proper night reading. Truly a very solid eReader.

A ver. Llevo con ebooks desde 2007. Ya me he cargado unos cuantos.
